I may just have a problem when it comes to design and illustration books, especially inspiration books. Sometimes you just want to try something new or maybe you’re having a hard time finding typography ideas. These books can get you out of that funk, especially if you prefer something you can touch and thumb through vs something digital like Pinterest. And if nothing else, most of these make great coffee table books.
Let’s get at it. Here’s my list of current favorite design books:
The Complete Pattern Directory: 1500 Designs from All Ages and Cultures
Graphic Artists Guild Handbook, 16th Edition: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines
50s All-American Ads
by Jim Heimann
Flowers and Plants: An Image Archive of Botanical Illustrations for Artists and Designers
by Kale James
And there you have it, my current favorite books. You can take a look at all my favorites on my Amazon storefront.
